In my previous blog post on how to be an ally, I discussed various ways in which we can support and uplift the Black community. One of the easiest ways is to diversify your social feeds and amplify the voices of Black people and creators. I wanted to share my top UK Black Instagram influencers to follow and support.
Melissa / Melissa’s Wardrobe
Melissa is the ultimate influencer, she is also a celebrity stylist and interior decorator. She has impeccable style. She shares fashion and beauty picks which often sell out immediately. This is because she is genuine and trustworthy, her word is her bond and she doesn’t recommend products lightly. Whether it’s a piece from Zara’s latest collection or a REN skincare product, it’s tried-and-tested before it’s shared on her IG Story.

This picture came up in my archive and it made me smile so I’m reposting it (who am I?!)
Sade / In My Sunday Best
I discovered Sade’s blog and Instagram a few years ago and her account is one of my favourites. Her feed has a unique ambrosial quality, it just feels like a warming hug. Her aesthetic is beautiful and I love her maximalist interiors and endless collection of pretty floral dresses.
Yossy / With Love Yossy
Yossy is an incredible photographer and blogger, incidentally, she is also Sade’s sister. What an incredibly talented family! On her feed, Yossy shares small daily joys in life, whether it’s a Dalgona coffee or some fresh flowers. Her posts are a little slice of peace in a tumultuous world.
Grace / Grace Victory
Fancy a bit of genuine positivity to punctuate your feed? Then follow Grace. Her content focuses on healing and emotional intelligence, Grace is open about issues she has faced in the past and how she has worked to overcome them. She is incredibly strong and determined…and also has incredible style as well as a beautiful, calming presence.
Tinuke / Tinuke Bernard
Full disclosure: Tinuke is a very old friend as well as a brilliant blogger. She recently transitioned from a parenting blogger to a lifestyle blogger and covers all topics from plants and parenting to books. She has a vivacious personality which really comes across online. She also put together the Black Instagram Influencer Directory which you should check out!
Paula / Hill House Vintage
Paula is a relatively recent discovery and I am so enamoured with her aesthetic. On her Instagram, she shares her beautiful home and has a gorgeous wardrobe of vintage treasures. Scrolling through her feed is like being transported to a different world, full of whimsy and magic. Don’t we all need a little escape from real life right now?
Karina / Style Idealist
Karina is utterly stunning and rocks a midi dress like no one else. Her Instagram feed is a lovely mix of beauty recommendations, pretty dresses and a glimpse into her life. Her shoots are editorial but attainable and I always end up adding a couple of dresses to my wishlist.
Ghenet / Ghenet Actually
I adore Ghenet and her cosy vibe. She shares sustainable fashion, books and baking on her feed. She also has a lovely monthly newsletter you can subscribe to, I look forward to reading mine with a fresh cup of tea. It’s almost as good as seeing Ghenet face-to-face for a good chat.
Omo and Eulanda / Dip Your Toes In
I discovered Omo and Eulanda through a shared love of travel…then I discovered their passion for food and just loved their general vibe. I’ve added quite a few European destinations to my travel wishlist thanks to them and I’ve enjoyed their pivot to cocktails and lifestyle content during lockdown.
Char / Char XO
I discovered Char through mutual friends years ago and have loved her content ever since. She is one of the OG bloggers, back when it was a very small community. I love her travel content, sassy quotes and beauty recommendations.
I hope you’ve discovered some new accounts to follow and support. Leave a comment with your favourite UK Black Instagram Influencers for me to follow too.
