The AmfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala is the glittering jewel in Cannes’ crown. There’s nothing I love more than seeing supermodels decked out in custom gowns and a sprinkling of million-dollar jewels on a red carpet and while I’ve had a field day watching the festivities at Cannes, it’s AmfAR that I most look forward to. Here are my favourite looks from this year’s gala:
Bella Hadid in Ralph & Russo
This dress blew me out of the water. Bella looks exquisite. There’s nothing more that can be said for this look other than “she shut it down”. This look is going to go down in history.
Lara Stone in Chanel Couture
I’m a huge fan of being extra, which is why I adore this Chanel Couture look. Sequins and a plunging neckline and long sleeves and a slight drop waist and a poufy tutu skirt. The only thing I’m not loving is the belt – it’s just one step too far but it’s still a great look.
Cindy Bruna
The internet doesn’t seem to know where Cindy’s gorgeous black gown is from but I’m utterly obsessed. The neckline is so chic and modern while the bottom half of heavy velvet with ruching is vampy goth but somehow it all works together.
Irina Shayk in Prada
Only Miuccia could take a simple dress, cover it in sequins and make it look modern and fresh rather than tacky. I don’t often like a sequinned dress on the red carpet, it feels old hat and stale but I can’t get enough of this beautiful creation on Irina.
Martha Hunt in Ermanno Scervino
Pretty, sheer dresses are a dime a dozen on red carpets but this delicate sea foam number by Ermanno Scervino really stood out from the crowd. The mixed textures on the dress and simple styling are perfection.
loved Martha Hunt in Ermanno Scervino and Bella Hadid in Ralph & Russo the dress were so ethereal and delicate. khush
