Simone Rocha’s collections always feel like a journey, each season we are drawn into her world. Her ability to create her an intense, intoxicating vision for the season is what sets her apart from her peers. This season, Rocha is inspired by the Louise Bourgeois, resulting in a tapestry-heavy, voluminous shaped collection featuring softer looks adorned with embellishment and 3D petals which made way for grand, sweeping capes with fur trims and a more gothic aesthetic.
The overall look was deconstructed; it looked as if the collection was a reworking of an old wardrobe discovered in a dusty attic, pulled apart and splicing together tweed, brocade, velvet, tulle and lace for an opulent, ramshackle look. Rocha is one of the most exciting design talents to come out of London and it’s very, very exciting to see her well in her stride.
