A couple of weeks ago, I woke up uncharacteristically early to head over to Oxford Street to have breakfast with the lovely Miss Selfridge PR team. And peruse the AW14 collection, obviously. I’m sure I’ve mentioned before but I have a soft spot for Miss S. I know everyone from London to LA loves Topshop but Topshop is a little cool for me at times. I much prefer Miss Selfridges’ fun and feminine aesthetic. The spring/summer collections are always spot on for lazy summer days and festivals while the autumn/winter collections are full of beautifully beaded evening dresses. The flapper dresses in the AW13 collection were so almost too good to be high street. So what do Miss Selfridge have in store for us this season? A lot. I wanted everything, from basic 90s crop tops to an incredible selection of midis. The collection is more trend-led and directional than I’ve seen before at Miss a Selfridge but still incredibly easy to wear – I tried on a ton of crop tops which I usually steer clear of and my first pair of culottes since I left the Brownies. I’m now obsessed with culottes! Here are my favourite outfits that I tried on. I was obviously in a midi state of mind, I fell in love with both the soft gold and the patterned Aztec print ones. I dressed the gold for day in a cropped white shirt with a jewelled collar and a cropped pleather top for night. The Aztec midi was one half of a super cute co-ord set so of course I tried them both on. What’s your favourite look?
Here are my top picks from the AW14 collection:
Faux leather bra top – £18
Orange aztec print midi skirt – £45
Shimmer skirt – £39
Butterfly print playsuit – £45
Silver sequin wrap top – £35
I love the shimmer skirt and the aztec print. Lovely to see Miss Selfridge is still going strong. I used to shop there as a teen, when I was still slim enough to fit into their clothing *blush*
