Anyone who knows me will know that there’s one particular type of dress that I hate: the ‘going out dress’. A quick scour of any high street store website confirms the reason why, they’re either super boring or a heady combination of short, tight, bright, backless and practically frontless. I mean really, there’s no middle ground for women who look good on a night out without looking like a TOWIE cast member or Kate ‘playing it safe’ Middleton? Predictably, ASOS is my best bet for going out dress dramas and I have a couple of go-to brands up my sleeve, by far though my favourite is young London label Three Floor.
Launched in 2011, the label has really carved out a niche for contemporary, fashion forward pieces with an effortlessly cool vibe. Unsurprisingly inspired by style bloggers, editors and off-duty models, the collections usually feature daring cut outs and sheer panels in bold shades with little feminine touches to soften the overall look. For me, daring little dresses form the basis of the brand DNA, although the spring/summer 2014 collection also features some killer dress down separates like the sleeveless Reportoire jacket skinny trousers with snake leather effect panels. Caliente.
Here are my favourite looks from the Spring/Summer collection:
