After an unusually sombre, moody autumn/winter 2013 collection, Mary Katrantzou’s first resort offering was like a very literal breath of fresh air. Using the black and white landscape images of AW13 as a springboard, Katrantzou switched to intense landscape prints from her own travels across Europe, Asia and South America. Beautiful flowers blossoming, apartment buildings in Sao Paulo, placid Japanese lagoons and the breathtaking Swiss Alps all featured on one of the most stunning collections of the resort season. The silhouette also graduated, from severe, imposing silhouettes in AW13 to soft, voluminous skirts and capes. An exquisite collection which truly blurs the lines between fashion and art.
