Bleeker Street in New York has to be one of my favourite streets in the whole world. It’s full of great stores, Magnola’s Bakery, Bookmarc and sweet little boutique Sucre. When I walked past, the glittering jewels in the window caught my eye and I was just drawn in. As a jewellery magpie, I was in heaven. From Bliss Lau and Pamela love to Ayaka Nishi and Made Her Think, Sucre stocks some of the coolest jewellery brands around.
Sucre was opened in 2007 by Selima Salaun and Candace Mohr, who met 11 years ago and bonded over a shared love of accessories. Selima is also the owner of fashionista favourite Selima Optique, a haute eyewear line favoured by the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Hubert de Givenchy and Liv Tyler. Candance has previously worked with Patricia Field and as head buyer of Girlshop before teaming up with Selima on Sucre.
There isn’t anywhere quite like Bleeker Street in London and there sure isn’t anywhere quite as cool as Sucre. If you live in New York or are visiting anytime soon, talk a walk down Bleeker Street, pop into Sucre for some killer jewels and let me know what you snap up!
