The Bora Aksu show opened with pretty lace, crochet and laser cut pieces in neutral tones of off-white, slate grey and beige and ended with more dramatic jewel tones including rich aubergine and bold raspberry. Inspired by the 1920s and the Art Deco movement, the collection featured exquisite detailing including scalloped layers, lace work and beading.
The collection featured rigid leather corsets, cinching the models’ waists into perfectly sculpted hourglasses, sharply contrasting with floaty shapes and pretty lace and crochet details. An unmistakably winter collection, Bora featured thick wool and lashings of leather, from form-fitting pencil dresses to leather jackets with an exaggerated silhouette. A mix of costume and extremely wearable, modern pieces, the collection featured some very strong looks, particularly the closing look – a sharply tailored leather dress with a purple sheath cloak.
