One of my favourite aspects of fashion is when something
stops being a piece of clothing or an accessory and it becomes a piece of art.
For me, this would typically be something I’ve seen at Mary Katrantzou,
Alexander McQueen or Rodarte; the few designers who transcend into fashion
fantasy and aren’t constrained by boundaries. It’s very rare to find this on
the high street, which is why I had to pick my jaw off the floor when I saw
these incredible shoes by United Nude. Collaborating with Iris Van Herpen for a
seventh season, these handcrafted leather ankle boots were created for Iris’
fourth Haute Couture show in Paris. Based on the central themes of electricity
and light’s effect to chance states, the collection has an avant-garde,
alchemist feel to it. This fits in perfectly with United Nude, who is known for
their architectural footwear. These boots are available in extremely limited
quantity so be quick!
