What a difference a season makes! Last season, Zoe Jordan’s show at London Fashion Week was slightly under the radar and full of anticipation. This season, the queue went around the block and the likes of Brix Smith-Start and Jameela Jamil were in attendance and snapping away with their phones throughout. Definitely a name to watch in coming seasons, Zoe was nominated for Vogue’s Designer Fashion Fund this year and won Elle’s Talent Launchpad in 2010. Just a few looks into her spring/summer 2013 collection and it’s easy to see why there is such a buzz surrounding this young designer.
The show opened with a soft pink trouser suit and went onto include shimmery, metallic leather pieces, billowing silk pieces with scribbled patterns, flimsy suede dresses and separates in metallic tweed. The collection had a modern, refined sporty edge. A slight tomboy feel and minimalist aesthetic at the beginning merged into a bold, colourful collection towards the end with bold and bright stripes, tribal sketches and sequinned harem pants. A high energy collection, I am coveting so much of the collection. Roll on 2013!
