One of the things I love most about London Fashion Week is the support for young and emerging designers. Without fail, I find someone new and exciting to obsess over and watch grow. Last season, I fell for Phoebe English’s playful textures and I think I’ve already found my designer for the season, Kuwait-based Tahir Sultan. Describing his collection as being “dedicated to the secret few who know that there is nothing more fashionable than just being yourself”, the collection features trend elements such as flashes of neon, shimmying fringing and ornate stud detailing but translates them into classic, timeless pieces. His past experience as an architect and CSM graduate with experience under McQueen and Galliano is evident with his sculptural edge, hard lines and those incredible shoulder details. My favourite pieces were the beautifully draped Grecian goddess dresses with sumptuous draping. The feathers, fringing and gold studs added a luxe feel to a fantastic debut collection in London.
I love this designer! The draping is lovely, such a luxe look.
