I don’t think there was a single fashion-loving girl who didn’t wish she was aboard the Louis Vuitton Express in February as the extravagant luxury brand showcased their autumn/winter 2012 collection. I’ve watched the show and poured over the images countless times so I was beyond excited to receive an invite to their AW12 press day. The show is a visual feast, from the elaborate staging, adorable porters to the pieces themselves and the beautiful accessories so it was wonderful to have the opportunity to see everything up close to admire the details.
Inspired by travel and the Orient Express, the collection is a playful nod to the brand’s heritage with exquisite hat boxes, vanity cases, weekend bags and luggage as well as the forever covetable handbags. The clean and simple silhouette for the clothing was echoed by simple bag shapes, with the Louis Vuitton icons such as the Speedy reworked in luxurious ostrich leather or crocodile with sparkly sequin monogram detailing. I adore the reworked Stephen Sprouse print, which appeared in leopard print on fur. The devil is certainly in the detail and the fabulous autumn/winter 2012 collection showed Louis Vuitton at it’s best; turning everyday items into the most extraordinary objects of desire.
THE LEOPARD! THUD. SO jealz of you getting to go to this! <3 J x
