If I’m being completely honest, I’m a little bit over designer collaborations. They have come a long way from the days of Madonna for H&M (anyone else remember that?!) and some really credible names are getting in on the affordable action. Of course it’s great to democratise fashion somewhat but the launch always gets turned into such a circus of publicity with such limited stock levels that it’s usually not worth the hassle. I think the Alberta Ferretti for Macy’s collection may just be the exception to the rule though. Unlike the garish, instantly recognisable Versace for H&M collection, the Ferretti collection is beautiful in it’s own right and translates the main line aesthetic in an attainable way. Despite being fairly limited in production, the comprehensive collection includes casual dresses and separates as well as some killer evening dresses. It will be available in 185 Macy’s stores from 17th April.
