London Fashion Week: Christian Blanken AW12

It’s a fact of fashion life that LFW is chaotic and shows will both run late and be oversubscribed. I hurried over to Somerset House from the Prose show over at VFS and was fortunate enough to have a hard copy, seated ticket. From what I hear, the queue/mob snaked around the corner and the PR had to put on a presentation after the show was over. A testament to a designer very much in demand and from what I saw of the collection, the hype is very much justified. The show started with clean, minimalist pieces with a slight luxe sports feel followed by beautiful, billowing maxi dresses. Stand out pieces included a simple, bold red dress, metallic leather trousers, shimmery silver trousers and a slate coloured maxi skirt. A beautifully elegant collection.
