Some brands really do embrace social media and use it well, not just the obvious examples such as Burberry and Oscar de la Renta’s OscarPRGirl on Twitter. Lanvin have been quietly doing their thing on Facebook, posting their fabulous videos as well as press mentions and behind-the-scenes shots. This is exactly what luxe brands should be using social for; while high street stores harness social primarily for product and collections, luxury brands need to give a little bit of insight into their inner sanctum. Each of Lanvin’s photo albums has upwards of 300 likes plus comments and shares, showing that their community is highly engaged in their activity.
Regular readers will know I rarely post about menswear but I spied some gorgeous backstage shots of the Homme Hiver show and just had to post them. I would never have checked out the show but I like the brand and they’ve used that slight indication of interest to fully grab my attention. I don’t know much about menswear but I know that I’m hoping all men take note of the beautiful muted colour palette and precise tailoring, the big lapels and soft layering. What do you think of these backstage photos, have they piqued your interest?
