A couple of months ago, I popped over to the Oui Rooms to take a sneak peek at Eskimo PR’s spring/summer 2012 press day. They represent some super cool brands, here are my favourite collections:
Chinese Laundry: Launched over 20 years ago, Chinese Laundry are masters of quirky, statement footwear. Snakeskin is continuing to be a strong trend for spring and I loved the coloured chunky platforms, patterned wedges and pretty patent pastel heels.
Moda in Pelle: Inspired by Palm Springs, Ocean Drive, Sunset Strip and Hollywood Heroines, Moda in Pelle’s SS12 collection was bright, pretty and very feminine. Bold shapes, block heels and wedges made for a strong silhouette.
Andersen & Lauth: Entitled “summer of love”, there couldn’t be a more fitting description of the Icelandic duo’s SS12 collection. Taking the soft, romantic elements of the 60s and 70s, the collection is free-spirited and decadent. The floaty kaftans, pretty dresses and ornate jackets are exquisitely hand embroidered. In delicate shades of blush pink, rose and champagne, the collection has a vintage feel with tougher undercurrents. Absolutely stunning, one of my favourite SS12 collections.
Ted Baker – The SS12 shoe collection was typical Ted with quirky, eyecatching prints. The stripe courts have a timeless quality about them, when is the nautical trend not ‘in’? My favourite shoes of the evening were the floral and bug patterned ones below.
