A couple of months ago, I stumbled upon the lovely Liam Fahy at the LFW exhibitions. His striking shoe collection immediately caught my eye, the shoes are spectacular from a distance and even better close up with really great attention to detail and brilliant Italian craftship. The collection epitomises luxury, with each of the limited edition shoes inscribed with a signature nickel detailing on the sole. The Spring/Summer 2012 collection, The Elegant Collectables, is inspired by Colonial African school uniforms, liquoirish, Pan Am girls and 1950s metallic typography, resulting in a breathtaking collection of sharp wedges, subtle platforms and soft textures. Although it’s a SS12 collection, the darker colour palette and luxe fabrics give it a seasonless feel. This is what Liam said about the collection: “The increasing pace of commercial fashion is restricting genuine creativity amongst so many designers, as a result the boundaries of seasons have become blurred, so why not create a collection embracing a schizophrenic season. It’s about having the confidence not to change so fast.”
These are all amazing!! 🙂 xx
