This morning brings news that has the Twitterati in a buzz:
H&M’s next collaboration is with Italian luxury brand Marni. The collection
will feature menswear, womenswear and accessories and launch on 8th
March 2012 worldwide – mark the date in your calendar. Although the well-known
brand collaborations with the likes of Versace and Jimmy Choo have done really
well for H&M and have caused overnight queues and hysteria, I think it’s a
great move for them to go with a slightly under-the-radar brand. There have
already been quips on Twitter saying the majority of the population will wonder
if Marni is somehow connected to Armani, but as one of fashion’s most-loved
labels, the collaboration is due to do very well. It’s something for
fashionistas to genuinely get excited about.
From the sneak peeks I’ve seen, Marni’s creative director Consuelo
Castiglioni has retained her signature prints, playfulness and elegance making
for some really, really striking pieces – but in a very different way to the
current Versace collection. Colours will be bold, prints will clash but in a
more refined, graceful way combined with Marni silhouettes – full pleated
skirts, dresses and cropped trousers.
“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by
revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always,
I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus
graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements”.Consuelo Castiglioni, Founder and
Creative Director.
What do you think of the collaboration so far, will you be queuing up for a piece of Marni at H&M prices?
the prints for this are looking awesome.
Great news!! Enjoyed the video.
CANNOT WAIT OMG
I cannot wait for this! I am starting to save up now!!Maria xxx
