I know this post is slightly delayed but I always think that writing up the shows and being a responsible blogger comes above ‘what I wore’ posts. This year, I wasn’t overly excited about dressing up for London Fashion Week, it’s my fifth season so the novelty and excitement has worn off slightly but it is kind of essential to make an effort. Lots of people do dress up and walking around the courtyard can be so inspiring, but personally, my main MO has been comfort and championing my beloved high street. For me, London’s differentiator is the quality and range of our high street so I always make a point of repping my favourite stores. The lovely guys at Motel Rocks were kind enough to gift me the black lace Cilla dress which I wore for day one. The lace trend has been around for a while but this sheer, delicate tattoo lace is really striking; especially over the nude slip. It’s a classic skater shape with long sheer sleeves and a low back for some added interest. I continued the nude trend with my semi-sheer tights from New Look. I always rely on New Look for quirky tights and this pair is one of my favourites. The wedged brogues are from Bertie and they are super comfy, the wedge and the platform make them kind to my feet. The perfect shoes for rushing around on the cobbles with.
Is wearing all black a bit of a fashion cliché? The oversize tshirt cape from 18 & East was actually perfect for LFW, the voluminous shape worked double time to keep me cool during the day but warm when it got chillier in the evening. Personally, I’m a little over dip-dyed hair but the black/grey dip-dye fringing added a little bit of an edge to the cape, not to mention it looked amazing when I walked! I balanced out the volume on top with super skinny jeans from J.Brand and my favourite black wedges from Carvela. The crucifix necklace is one of my favourite pieces of jewellery, I found the actual crucifix in a market in Barcelona and asked super talented jewellery designer and stylist Frankie Murray of Swell Vintage to put it on a chain for me.
Do not adjust your monitor, your eyes are not deceiving you…I am indeed wearing flats. This is the most casual I’ve been at LFW, I needed a really low key way. The fabulous ankle boots are from Sarenza, my feet deserved a one day haitus from the heels. I love these boots and pretty much lived in them for a week after LFW was over. The jumper is such a lovely colour and an absolute bargain from Boohoo. I hadn’t shopped there before but I was really impressed by the pieces they had on the site. I do love the colour but also the ladder detail at the waist and back. Being a super casual day, I wore the jumper with some Levis cut offs but dressed up the outfit with this stunning necklace, courtesy of Eastern Mystic. Known for their statement pieces and tribal influences, the brand is regularly featured in the likes of Grazia, Cosmopolitan, The Telegraph fashion and Cosmopolitan Bride.
I loved the Motel dress when I saw it at LFW. It's so pretty and looked stunning on you. Also love your day 2 outfit. It's an awesome looking t-shirt/cape.
