After a short Fashion Month haitus, Friday Fashion Fix is back with a super bumper edition. Enjoy.
Milan FW declares war on London and New York.
Fashion month’s an exhausting, jet-setting experience is about to get a whole lot messier. There has been a fine balance between the timing of each individual fashion week to ensure that (on the whole) editors can attend each week. Milan has been rather bold with it’s proposed timings for next September’s shows which overlap with New York and completely eclipse London. Now, I feel quite strongly about London Fashion Week, there is such a wealth of design capital from both up-and-coming and established designers which get overlooked. Editors tend to miss the first couple of days of London as it is, and now Milan want to just cut London out altogether. Conde Nast have weighed into the debate by threatening that none of their Vogue editors (American, Italian and French included) will attend if they don’t move the dates. Point made? Not so, the Milan Chamber of Fashion have decided to stick to running from 19-25th September, while New York will run from 13-20th September and London will run from 21st-25th September. Watch this space for updates of this epic power struggle.
Chanel’s Spring 2012 nail polishes.
Ready, set, GO! Chanel nail polishes always cause a stampede and single-handedly set nail trends of the season. I’m not too keen on the deep tones of April, but May and June’s zingy shades are right up my street. Which colours are you digging?
Eileen Fisher comes to the UK.
Super covetable, premium US label Eileen Fisher has opened it’s first UK store in Covent Garden and is set to open it’s second in Marylebone. The luxurious fabrics combined with timeless elegance being this is on my lust list for luxe basics.
Angels & Men launch thermal jeans.Brrrr it’s getting cold in here! The girls at work are already thinking about layering tights and leggings under their clothes. It may seem like a necessary tactic for keeping warm, especially when snow is forecast this month, but looking like the Michelin man is never a good look. That’s why I’m so excited to hear about Angels & Men, a new premium denim line which have a range of thermal jeans! They’re available now and perfect for pairing with a Uniqlo HeatTech top, cosy cardi and some knee high riding boots.

One of the most hotly anticipated fashion books, Irreverent by Carine Roitfeld is out now. Carine celebrated it’s launch with a fabulous vampire-themed ball. Here are my favourite looks from the party.
Lagerfeld’s Karleidoscope perfume.
Launching a perfume is Karl Lagerfeld’s latest side project and it has an amazing name: Karleidoscope. There’s actually a little kaleidoscope in the bottle top with Karl’s silhouette! It also comes with a little sponge shaped in his profile so you can daintily dab the perfume on. The perfume is released on 11th October in Europe only.
