Today brings the epic news from H&M that their next designer collaboration will be with one of the most iconic fashion houses in the world – Versace. It’s set to be a huge collaboration, not least because Versace’s super-luxe design signatures are colliding with H&M’s affordable, accessible business model. The collaboration draws on Versace’s bold, bright, exuberant heritage for a womenswear, menswear and homeware collection which set to arrive in stores on November 17th in 300 stores as well as online. If the Lanvin collaboration was anything to go by, heading to stores may be the best option! Don’t worry if you miss out the first time around though, as Versace as also releasing a pre-spring collection which will be available online on January 19th.
H&M is really pulling out all the stops with it’s collaborations, in the past they have piqued my interest but not enough to lure me into stores to buy. The Lanvin collection was different though, and my pink ruffle dress is one of my prized wardrobe possessions. The launch of the collection caused a London-wide frenzy and I think it worked so well because the collaboration stayed true to Lanvin’s signatures: tulle, ruffles, florals, prettiness and raw, unfinished edge. I have very high hopes for the Versace collaboration, I’m hoping for a ridiculously glamourous, more is more, provocative collection. For me, that is the essence of the brand. The images look fairly promising, the studded leather pieces are by far my favourite.
That pink dress is awesome. I.Want.It.
