I’m just going to put this out there: I’m not a huge Gaga fan. The only reason I might pay her a little bit of attention from time to time is for her sartorial choices. As attention-seeking as she may be, she does push the boundaries and stretch what is considered acceptable dressing in public. At a time where celebrities usually play it straight and predictable, she’s like a jolt electricity. With a penchant for the avant garde, her fearless dress sense has the likes of Gaultier, McQueen and Mugler lining up to dress her so I was pleasantly surprised to see her wearing something by the less well known Maria Francesca Pepe. With the sort of star power Gaga has, it’s great that she’s supporting lesser known designers.
Here are some images from the Autumn/Winter 2011 press day. I loved the collection for it’s jagged, hard pieces. I’m looking forward to seeing Gaga rocking more MFP.
I love MFP's designs. Lady Gaga can really pull off anything she wants to!xoxoMeera
I love Maria Francesca Pepe. I will have to admit Gaga is a little bit odd though and very attention seeking. She seems very sucessful for it though
I agree, that it's nice when Gaga actually supports lesser known designers. She also wears a lot of stuff from recent Central Saint Martins graduates who don't even have stockists yet, which is great. I love this collection – I'm all for strong hardware and studs. The jewelry is incredible!P.S. It would be lovely to meet you at some point – we should definitely grab a coffee together. You can email me at hauteworld (a) gmail.com 🙂
I like that she supports young designers – often in her music videos she does this (I think in telephone she showcased a lot of new British designs?) but right now she's a little too crazy for me…!www.styleonthecouch.wordpress.comwww.twitter.com/styleonthecouch
I do love her designs. Plus we share a name of sorts. Are we relatives? I like to think so x
Sigh, Gaga needs to wear some WendyB. 🙁
