Recently, I’ve kind of turned my back on the mainstream fashion magazines, Vogue, Grazia, Harper’s and the like. Don’t get me wrong, I love the editorials and articles and discovering brands I’d never heard of. But lately the amount of adverts in them has been absolutely ridiculous. I do like campaign shots, some of them can be better than editorial shots, but leafing through 25 pages before you even get to the contents page is ridiculous. That’s why I’ve turned towards smaller magazines, like Centrefold. The current issue of the bi-annual magazine was released last month and focused on the “explorations in colour, intricate typography and pushing fashion photography as pieces of art, open to the interpretation of the reader for the purpose of eliciting a response that could be desire, happiness, joy, excitement or hope”.
What amazing pictures, nowhere near me sells anything but the mainstream magazines which is a damn shame.
Fantastic images Reena!
I agree. I have just cancelled my Vogue and Elle Subscriptions, just seems like such a waste of paper for the few bits I actually read.
