This is probably very uncool of me to admit, but I loved the Ashley Isham invite, the details were printed on a sheet of clear plastic (there is a proper name for this, it’s stupid o’clock right now!) and a floral design layered underneath it. Silly as it sounds, it gave me an indication of things to come and boy did the show live up to the impressive invite. Ashley Isham knows a good gown. The collection started off with some slinky black gowns which I thought were a little boring to be very honest, I don’t really do black. Thankfully, the collection moved onto metallic silk which looked almost liquid before moving onto indigo, turquoise, two show-stopping marble-esque dresses, fuchsia and the finally were some beautiful wedding dresses.
The collection itself had some Grecian influences, the models looked like Grecian goddesses in their beautifully draped gowns. The sensuous, body conscious collection heavily featured bare shoulders, sumptuous fabrics and lots of shiny embellishment. There were two dresses which were short at the front and long at the back (again there is a proper name for this), I’m kind of loving them. They aren’t to everyone’s taste but they combine the sexiness of a short length with the dramaticness (I just made that up) of a full length gown. What do you think?
