I’m not normally one for bags but recently I’ve found myself a little bit obsessed. I’ve even rewritten a popular Calvin Harris song with the following lyrics: I like sachel bags, I like fringed bags, I like leather bags, I like suede bags…I like all the bags I like all the bags! I’m actually singing it in my head as I type. Do I need professional help or am I just starting to see the light?
I think women typically fall into two camps, shoe girl or bag lady. I’ve been firmly in the shoe camp for years and years. Bags are nice and all, we all need a place to put ‘stuff’ but I’d rather marvel at a pair of gorgeous platforms than the newest ‘it’ bag. I think the ‘it’ bag phenomenon was part of the problem, having one bag each season which scores of people rush to buy. Before long, it’s been copied on the highstreet and lost its appeal and you look just like everyone else. The latest in a long line of examples is the Mulberry Alexa. It’s a gorgeous, gorgeous bag I’ve been into the St Christopher’s place store so many times to stroke it and admire it but everyone has it and everyone on the highstreet has their own version.
I’ve been scouring Net-a-Porter for some gorgeous bags which hopefully won’t be the new ‘it’ bag and won’t be copied all over the highstreet. I don’t think I have a bag type, I love classics like the Mulberry Bayswater, I like bowling bags and satchels, I like lots of embellishment. Which is your favourite? Or is there a super gorgeous bag out there that I’ve missed?

Love the Mulberry Bayswater – you can't beat a classic. I do confess to harbouring a desire for a Chanel Cocoon bag.. it may take over my life! x
I love big bags and I cannot lie… Seriously I love the Bayswater but could be swayed if a PS1 or Miu Miu hobo landed in my arms. I definitely prefer bags over shoes, as I hate my shoes getting scraped or worn out and hobbling in heels. Bags are pretty dependable unless you fill them with too much crap!
Oooh I especially like the first two! Beautiful :)Head over to my blog to hear some new music and get a free download!
I confess to being a 'bag lady' …and a 'shoe lady ' too but think bags are definately my thing! I adore the ps1, the Mulberry Neely in spongy cream patent, the oversized bayswater clutch, the Chloe paraty is rather lovely and Stellas falabella both gorgeous. Also a fan of vintage bag finds… satchels and skins! What do you have your eye on? Katie. Would love you to visit. fashion clocked
I'm in love with the Proenza Schouler bag!xhttp://tantrummagazine.blogspot.com/
My favourite at the moment is the PS1 in XL, although I am also particularly keen on Givenchy bags too… Btw, have you come across Boyy bags? They sell them in Liberty; my friend bought one and it is gorgeous! With fur on it too…xxDuck
Oh the PS1 is my absolute favourite and has been for a while actually and totally agree with the Bayswater loving…cannot beat a classic!
Yep, I know about it.. and I don't like to buy copycat bags, but I loved this one so much that I couldn't resist myself…!Furthermore, shops like Zara are plenty of copies from the catwalk, and not only in bags…BTW, that one by Antik Batik is just 175?? wow!!xx
I think i'd have to go with the Chloe darla, beautiful x
ohhh the PS1 is definitely my favourite bag by far. it is so gorgeous – especially in that incredible deep burgundy shade. but the thousand pound price tag is achingly painful! xx
I love the Antik Batik bag!fedehttp://silkandcakes.com
