There’s something about leather clothing which makes people a little nervous. Sure, there might be slight S&M connotations but steer clear of chaps, bustiers and the like and you’ll see it’s such a gorgeous material to wear. Leather jackets are by far the most popular and mainstream leather clothing option, we all have at least one. Mine is an absolutely beautiful butter soft black one from River Island, which goes to show you can get good quality leather on the high street.
As happy as we are with leather outerwear, I think it’s time to get out of the comfort zone with leather. Leather clothing in the form of shorts, dresses, skirts and even leggings were all over the Autumn/Winter 2010 catwalks so it’s only a matter of time before the trend starts to filter down. My favourite permutation of leather clothing is leather shorts. Daring, yes definitely but I also think they’re pretty wearable too. Picture sheepskin lined boots, woollen tights, a sheer silk/chiffon blouse, chunky scarf and stroke-able leather shorts. Don’t they sound a lot less scary with all of those yummy winter textures thrown in? Fast fashion retailers such as Topshop, ASOS and Zara have already bought in leather shorts available to buy now.
I am warming up for this one, though I don't think I'll try it on my self. I love it on the girls above though.juliet xxx

I love the leather skirts, but can't really do shorts, leather or not. If I could I would though. Love your new blog header.
Oooh leather shorts are definitely everywhere right now…though I'm sure I would look ridiculous in them. I don't think I could carry them off but I might think to try a pair on if I ever come across them.Love the new header toooo!
Loving the new layout!Adèle – http://moltocuriosa.com ♥
I don't have a leather jacket 🙁 Want to have one though . I'm absolutely loving this leather trend !
I love the leather shorts look but I really think you need to be a 'legs' person to pull them off, a bit like the over-the-knee sock look. Still, i'm all for the leggy ones out there rocking this look, i think it's great to see leather being used aside from shoes and coats. x
