Toughening up a Pretty Dress

Sometimes a dress is too pretty to be left on the hanger, even if you have nothing to do except run errands. I like to think of it as liberating certain items of my wardrobe! My Victoriana boots and plain black cardi were the perfect casual everyday items to compliment my blue/green satin dress. I’ve gotta say, it’s so much more fun running errands in a pretty dress than a casual jersey dress!

Do you dress items down so you can wear them more casually?

Thanks to the lovely Ida of Rouge Marie, a long-standing blogger friend, who has nudged me back into outfit posts. As the blog has evolved, outfit posts have become less frequent…I always intend to bring them back, I just needed someone to give me a little push! x

Wow, great boots! So nice to see an outfit post!Almost everything I buy I consider it’s versitality and how I can dress them down (or up) It’s definitely worth the buy If I can see myself wearing something quite casually, especially if it’s more expensive!

I always dress down a lot of my stuff. Otherwise I would never really wear them. Love the boots, I am such a buckle girl.

I LOVE the boots! I always make dresses more dressed down with clunky boots, or a boyfriend cardigan

I love the idea of wearing boots, especially low, slightly masculine boots with girly things. It’s the right moment for that sort of anti-bling bling dress code. I wish I could do outfit posts. I’m usually a hot mess in the mornings– not good for someone who’s a fashion blogger. Haha! Keep up the outfit posts, please!

I often dress down my favourite dresses. I just get too excited to wait for a special occasion.

I love to do it! I think there should not be any clothes that got to be worn just once. Only wedding gown is something I don’t know how to dress again.juliet xxx

i like the tough-girl buckles on your boots! great that theyre grey which is more interesting than black haha. just less predictable.and i;d like to see the print of that dress more clearly! now it looks like a harlequin print to me but somehow i think its more than that.. hahacheersandrea oxoxxLife In Technicolor.
