Fashion Espanol

Ok, finally getting down to my Barcelona/Spanish fashion post. Talk about fashionably late 😉 So, Barcelona was overrun by tourists so it was pretty hard to find a genuine Barcelonian (is that a word?!). Eventually, I figured who was from Barcelona and who was just visiting the beautiful city. From what I saw, Barcelonian women were in one of two camps – elegant and casual in soft cotton jersey or in loud prints, a la Custo Barcelona. I’m not much of a print girl, but I visually devoured the cotton jersey basics. They tended to be in muted tones, blacks, greys, browns, purples. Oh and the popular item were harem pants, I don’t think the UK is quite ready for them but they’re normal fare in Barcelona. Here’s what I bought….

As an aside, I normally hate wearing black, but months after viewing the Fall 08 collections, I’m finally coming around to it’s appeal. It’s so versatile, chic, gorgeous! So expect loooads more black but a mix of textures, not that you can tell by my photos. The black leggings are actually wool and the shoes are velvet…I’ve seen the most perfect lace jacket which was literally calling my name. Anywhoo, here are my gorgeous shoes, bought years ago before an interview at a shoe shop, needless to say, I got the job!
